Thoughts & Prayers
Dear friends and family,
Friday evening Carolina time; I depart early tomorrow morning for San
Francisco and then to Tokyo, with subsequent train and bus connections to a
conference at a location near Mt. Fuji. This is an annual church planting
conference where more than 300 missionaries from many different mission agencies
serving in that part of the world will be gathering for training, worship, and
fellowship. I will be joining other consultants to provide medical and counseling
services to the group. Karen has stayed at home to monitor communication, as my
global phone does not work in Japan. I do hope to have e-mail contact intermittently.
The potential ratio of counselors to counselees looks to be in the range of 1:30,
so I believe I will be busy. We would not be able to be there at all without your
gifts and prayers that are making it possible. I ask for your continued prayers
for safe travel, sustained energy, and spirit-directed insight.
